Colin Firth (born 10 September 1960 in Grayshott, Hampshire) is a British actor who holds an Academy Award, two BAFTAs and a Golden Globe. He broke through internationally as Mr. Darcy in the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice, then reached global stardom with The King's Speech (2010). His films have grossed over four billion dollars worldwide across more than fifty releases.
Spielberg's sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day, in which Firth plays antagonist Noah Scanlon, had its world premiere on June 2, 2026 in Paris and earned over 98 million dollars worldwide by June 16.
In February 2026, Firth began filming the series Berlin Noir for Apple TV+, where he plays detective Paul Lohser alongside Jack Lowden.
In the fourth installment of Bridget Jones's Diary - Madly in Love (February 2025), Firth returned to the role of Mark Darcy in flashback scenes; the character is depicted in the plot as deceased.
The miniseries Lockerbie: In Search of the Truth, in which Firth played Jim Swire, premiered on January 2, 2025 on Peacock and Sky Atlantic; Firth received a BAFTA nomination in the leading actor category.
The miniseries Lockerbie: In Search of the Truth won the award for best drama series at the British Academy Scotland Awards 2025.
