Claudio Ermelli (1892-1964) was an Italian film actor from Turin whose screen career ran from the silent era to the early 1960s, taking in over a hundred roles. He is best known internationally for playing Giovanni, the landlord in Roman Holiday (1953), opposite Gregory Peck. Before films he ran his own theatre company specialising in revue, and after the war he worked with directors including Luchino Visconti.
