Christoph Waltz (born 4 October 1956 in Vienna) is an Austrian actor who also holds German and American citizenship. After decades working in German-language theatre and television, Quentin Tarantino cast him as SS Colonel Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds (2009), launching his Hollywood career. He went on to win a second Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA for Django Unchained (2012) - making him one of the rare actors to sweep that trio of awards twice.
