Cecilia Roth (born 1956, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine-Spanish actress whose career spans more than four decades across Argentina and Spain. She left for Spain with her family in 1976 and soon became part of Pedro Almodóvar's circle, first appearing in Labyrinth of Passion (1982). International recognition came with the lead role in All About My Mother (1999), which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film; she had already made history in 1998 as the first non-Spanish actress to win the Goya Award for Best Actress, for Martín (Hache). Spain's Ministry of Culture awarded her the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts.
Cecilia Roth plays one of five main roles in the Spanish dark comedy series Furia (HBO Max), which premiered on July 11, 2025.
In August 2024, the film Culpa cero (directed by Valeria Bertuccelli) premiered in Argentina, in which Roth plays one of the main roles.
At the ceremonial Premios Platino XCARET in Riviera Maya (April 20, 2024), Cecilia Roth received the honorary award Platino de Honor for her lifetime contribution to Ibero-American cinema.
In July 2024, the Argentine film Goyo (directed by Marcos Carnevale) premiered, in which Roth played the role of Magda.
