Bernard Slade was a Canadian-American playwright and screenwriter, born in 1930 in Ontario. He is best known for his stage comedies, most notably Same Time, Next Year (1975), which enjoyed a long run on Broadway. His plays blend light humour with emotional depth and remain popular in theatre repertoires worldwide.
