Benicio del Toro (born 1967, Puerto Rico) is one of the most distinctive character actors of his generation. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a Mexican police officer in Steven Soderbergh's Traffic (2000), and took the Best Actor prize at Cannes for playing Che Guevara in Soderbergh's Che (2008). His filmography ranges from the cult thriller The Usual Suspects to Sicario, with recurring collaborations with Wes Anderson and Paul Thomas Anderson.
Del Toro is negotiating a role as the antagonist in the upcoming Ocean's Eleven prequel alongside Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper; filming is scheduled for 2026.
