Barbora Seemanová (born 1 April 2000 in Prague) is a Czech freestyle specialist and the country's dominant swimmer for nearly a decade. She has competed at three Olympic Games - Rio 2016, Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 - reaching the 200m freestyle final each time and finishing sixth in both Tokyo and Paris, where she was the only European in the field. Her 2024 European Championships haul of five medals, including gold in the 100m and 200m freestyle, cemented her status among Europe's best.
At the World Championship in Singapore, Seemanová finished fifth in the final of the 200 m freestyle with a time of 1:55.20 - the best Czech result at the championship.
Seemanová received her sixth award as the best Czech female swimmer of the year in the Czech Swimming Federation poll.
At the prestigious Mare Nostrum meet in Barcelona, she won the 200 m freestyle race and defeated the current world champion Siobhán Haughey.
Seemanová won for the fifth time in the poll for the best Czech female swimmer of the year for the 2024 season, in which she won four medals at the European Championships and finished sixth at the Olympics in Paris.
Seemanová withdrew from the European Short Course Championship in Lublin due to an undiagnosed illness.
