Bára Basiková is a Czech singer and actress, born on 17 February 1963 in Prague. She made her name in the 1980s with the rock bands Precedens and Stromboli before going solo and releasing more than fourteen albums. From the 1990s she also built a strong musical-theatre career, taking on roles such as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar and the title role in Kleopatra. She won the Anděl Award for Female Singer of the Year in 1991.
