B-Side Band is an eighteen-piece big band from Brno, Czech Republic, founded in 2006 by trumpeter and bandleader Josef Buchta. The ensemble moves across jazz, swing, soul and funk, and has performed at major Czech festivals alongside Grammy winners Kurt Elling and Judith Hill. Since 2024 the band has focused on original material with Czech-language lyrics, marking a deliberate new chapter in its career.
B-Side Band launched the celebration of its 20th anniversary with a double concert at the Brno Metro Music Bar (May 26-27, 2026) with guests Nikola Mucha, Jan Kolarik and others.
Jazzport.cz reported on a series of anniversary events by B-Side Band in 2026, culminating in a gala concert on November 20 at the Brno Municipal Theatre with guests Jiri Korn, Michal Prokop and American Grammy Award holder LaVance Colley.
As part of the anniversary year, B-Side Band will perform on September 28 in the Church of St. James in Brno the Missa Jazz by Jaromir Hnilicka and the world premiere of Jazz Variations on the St. Wenceslas Chorale by Pavel Zlamal.
B-Side Band completed an autumn 2025 tour across the Czech Republic, which included a concert at the Brno Metro Music Bar on December 3, 2025.
B-Side Band released on January 18, 2024 its first fully original album Tam a zpět on CD, vinyl and digitally, and subsequently completed a nationwide tour with it.
