August Diehl is a German actor known internationally for his role as SS Major Hellstrom in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009). Trained in Vienna, he works across film and theatre. In Kirill Serebrennikov's film The Disappearance of Josef Mengele, he plays the title role of the notorious Auschwitz doctor.
