Audrey Tautou (born 9 August 1976 in Beaumont, France) is a French actress best known for the title role in Amélie (2001), which became the highest-grossing French-language film ever released in the United States. Trained at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris, she broke through with Venus Beauty Institute (1999), winning the César Award for Most Promising Actress. Her subsequent career spans Hollywood blockbusters like The Da Vinci Code (2006) alongside Tom Hanks and the acclaimed biographical drama Coco Before Chanel (2009).
