Antonio Gades was a Spanish dancer and choreographer, one of the most influential figures in 20th-century flamenco. He is best known for his film trilogy with director Carlos Saura - Bodas de sangre, Carmen and El amor brujo - which brought flamenco to international audiences. His work fused traditional flamenco with theatrical drama and contemporary dance technique.
