Andrew Russell Garfield (born 20 August 1983) is a British-American actor who has worked across blockbusters, stage drama and musical film. He came to international attention as Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network (2010) and as Spider-Man in the Amazing Spider-Man films. On Broadway he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for Angels in America (2018), and he received two Academy Award nominations - for Hacksaw Ridge and Tick, Tick... Boom! - winning the Golden Globe for the latter.
Garfield commented on the controversy surrounding the film Artificial at the New York premiere of The Magic Faraway Tree and confirmed that the film found new distribution support.
Garfield began filming the movie Artificial directed by Luca Guadagnino, where he plays OpenAI CEO Sam Altman; the film is being shot in San Francisco.
