Amrish Puri was an Indian actor who appeared in hundreds of Bollywood films over a long career. He gained international recognition playing the villain Mola Ram in Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). In India he was celebrated as one of cinema's most compelling antagonists.
