About

Altın Gün is an Amsterdam-based band formed in 2016 that reinterprets Turkish psychedelic music of the 1960s and 70s through a modern lens of funk, synthesizers and Anatolian instruments. The group brings together Dutch and Turkish musicians, including vocalist Merve Dasdemir and multi-instrumentalist Erdinç Ecevit. Their 2019 album Gece earned a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album and landed them slots at Coachella and Primavera Sound. In February 2026 they released their sixth album, Garip, a tribute to the legendary Anatolian folk bard Neşet Ertaş.
