Alois Jirásek (1851–1930) was a Czech writer known primarily for his historical novels and stories depicting Czech history. His works include Staré pověsti české (Old Bohemian Legends) and the novel Temno. He had ties to Litomyšl, where he taught, and is considered one of the most prominent figures of Czech historical fiction.
