Alexandr Starý (born 1983 in Ostrava) is a Czech pianist, répétiteur and chamber musician. He studied at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava under Prof. Marta Toaderová and graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava, where he subsequently took up a teaching post in répétition. He also works as a répétiteur at the Moravian-Silesian National Theatre Antonín Dvořák in Ostrava and has performed with the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava and the Brno State Philharmonic. He honed his skills at masterclasses with Dmitri Bashkirov, Zoltán Kocsis, Marta Gulyás and Andrzej Jasinski, and in 2008 crowned four years at the Pommersfelden Summer Academy by performing Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto. He has won top prizes at the Beethoven Competition in Hradec nad Moravicí and the Chopin Competition in Mariánské Lázně, and together with bass Jan Martiník was named best accompanist at the Elena Obraztsova International Singing Competition in Moscow.
Alexandr Starý performed at the International Festival of Slavic Music in Ostrava, where he accompanied Slovak cellist Juraj Škoda in the performance of works dedicated to victims of concentration camps.
Alexandr Starý participated as a piano accompanist in the Dvořák Song Marathon at the National Theatre of Moravian-Silesian in Ostrava.
