Albert W. Hall (born November 10, 1937, in Brighton, Alabama) is a retired American actor best known for playing Chief Phillips in Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now (1979). A graduate of Columbia University School of the Arts, he built a career across film and television spanning four decades, with notable roles in Spike Lee's Malcolm X (1992) and as recurring judge Seymore Walsh in Ally McBeal and The Practice. His last screen appearance was in 2011 on Men of a Certain Age.
On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Apocalypse Now, a special film screening of the restored Final Cut version took place in the USA, in which Hall played Chief Phillipse.
Hall ended his acting career - his last role was Bruce in the TV series Men of a Certain Age (2009-2011).
