Adam Sandler (born September 9, 1966, Brooklyn) is an American actor, comedian, producer, and songwriter who rose to fame in the 1990s through a run of hit studio comedies and five seasons on Saturday Night Live. Alongside his trademark slapstick work, he has earned serious critical respect as a dramatic actor - his performance in Uncut Gems (2019) won him the Independent Spirit Award, and in 2023 the Kennedy Center awarded him the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the highest comedy honor in the United States. Since 2015 he has worked exclusively with Netflix, producing over twenty projects; in 2025 his sequel Happy Gilmore 2 drew over 90 million viewers on the platform.
