Antônio Carlos Jobim (1927–1994) was a Brazilian composer, pianist, and guitarist widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of bossa nova. His compositions, including "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Corcovado", became global standards and deeply influenced jazz and popular music worldwide.
