Absolva are a Manchester-based hard rock and melodic metal band founded in 2010 by brothers Chris and Luke Appleton alongside drummer Martin McNee - the same core that serves as Blaze Bayley's permanent live band. Self-releasing through Rocksector Records, they have put out seven studio albums and built a reputation as one of the UK's hardest-touring acts, logging over 80 shows in 2024 alone. Luke Appleton is a former member of American metal band Iced Earth.
Guitarist Tom Atkinson returned to Absolva in September 2025 and began performing with Blaze Bayley as well.
Absolva released their seventh studio album Justice on May 16, 2025, inspired by the film Tombstone, featuring guest vocalists Ronnie Romer and David Marcelis.
In April 2025, bassist Karl Schramm left both bands - Absolva and Blaze Bayley; Luke Appleton returned to bass.
Absolva released the single 'Find My Identity' featuring guest vocalist Ronnie Romer as the first preview of the Justice album.
The band concluded 2024 with more than 80 performed concerts, confirming its reputation as one of the most active British metal bands.
