A Woman Is a Woman (Une femme est une femme, 1961) is Jean-Luc Godard's only comedy and his first colour film. Starring Anna Karina, Jean-Claude Brialy, and Jean-Paul Belmondo in a playful love-triangle story, it pays homage to Hollywood musicals while subverting them with jump cuts and direct addresses to camera. Anna Karina won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 1961 Berlinale.
