1914 is a metal band from Lviv, Ukraine, founded in 2014 - the centenary of the First World War, which gives the band both its name and its sole thematic focus. Their sound fuses blackened death metal with death-doom and sludge, layered with authentic period recordings and battlefield audio. Signing to Napalm Records after their second album brought them wider international reach and a busy touring schedule across Europe and beyond. Their fourth album, Viribus Unitis (2025), has been widely praised as their most emotionally ambitious work to date.
