Šimanský Niesner

Šimanský Niesner is a guitar duo formed by Jakub Šimanský and Tomáš Niesner, who met in the noise-rock band Unna, where they have played together for nearly a decade. They made their joint debut with the album Tance neznámé (Stoned to Death label, 2019). Šimanský released his solo debut Face to Face Against American Primitivism in Eastern Europe Vol. I in 2016.

After releasing their first album, the duo toured extensively and worked on new material. The result was their second full-length album Všechno Dobré, and in 2020 their composition appeared on the compilation Imaginational Anthem Vol. X by American label Tompkins Square. In September 2023, the album Jako doma was released; they are currently working on new recordings.

Their music blends American primitivism, Czech folk, and Eastern music influences - they are known for their distinctive approach to tuning, rhythm, and mantra-like repetition, while maintaining a strong sense of melody.
