The End of Man?!?
A dark performance by two Russian artists living and working in Prague, revealing the cruelty of Russian life with a dose of dark humour. Jokes that chill, absurd situations, and attempts at trivialization are the main features of a show assembled from memories and testimonies of war survivors, the Chornobyl disaster, and the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The staging is realized as live-cinema using puppet animation, in which food plays the leading role. This multi-genre project about the power of the powerless draws from readings of works by Nobel Prize-winning author Svetlana Alexievich.
The performance won one of the main prizes, the First Award, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and received four-star reviews from British newspapers and magazines, including The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Scotsman, The List, and Daily Mail.
