Art&Play - The Human Body Under the Microscope

A creative workshop introducing the fundamentals of watercolour painting and connecting them with inspiration from the world of microscopic structures. Children will learn about the appearance of cellular formations visible under a microscope and use them as a template for their own artwork - each participant will select a microscopic image and create a watercolour painting inspired by the shapes, colours, and structures of the cellular world.

The workshop is part of the autumn semester of the Art & Play cycle titled "Art is not Science!", running from 20 September 2026 to 24 January 2027, held every other Sunday at Villa Pellé gallery. Over eight Sunday sessions, children explore what art and science might have in common - inspired by microscopes, simple devices, optical illusions, and the plant kingdom.

Each creative workshop lasts 90 minutes and takes place in the Villa Pellé Gallery clubroom. It is designed for children aged 7 to 13 without parental supervision; all tools and materials are included in the ticket price. We recommend bringing appropriate clothing and a drink.
