The Beatles Revival (also known as The Teplo) is a Czech tribute band imitating The Beatles. Founded in 1992 at a Kladno high school, the group still features two of its founding members - brothers Luděk and Zbyněk Maulis, who previously played in the Rakovník band Brutus. In 2002, Zbyněk Maulis learned to play guitar left-handed, just like Paul McCartney.
The musicians use instruments of the same brands as the original Beatles, custom-made wigs and costumes based on authentic designs, and shoes from the Liverpool-based Chelsea Cavern Boots company. The band performs 130-180 concerts annually, both public and private, most frequently in the Netherlands, Germany, and Poland, but has also performed in the United States and Asia. By 2006, they had completed over 1,500 performances.
Since 2003, they have played several times at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, including at the celebration of The Beatles' 50th anniversary in 2007. They have also performed at footballer Ruud van Nistelrooy's wedding, in Denmark alongside John Fogerty, at the launch of The Beatles' secretary Alistair Taylor's book, and for British Queen Elizabeth II. In Kladno, they regularly performed at the Kladenské Dvorky event in Podprůhon and organized annual Christmas concerts on December 23rd - previously at Club 19 in Stodola and at the cultural center in Sítná, and later at the cultural center in Stochov.
